Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

The short version: Porchlight has no account system and no backend server. Everything you create — saved verses, tags, prayer journal entries, streaks, parcels you've sent or received — stays on your device. We don't collect it, see it, or store it anywhere else.

1. Information we don't collect

Porchlight does not require you to create an account, and does not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information to use the app. There is no Porchlight server that stores your data — the app works entirely from data saved locally on your device.

2. What's stored on your device

The following is saved locally, using your device's own storage, and never leaves it:

Uninstalling Porchlight permanently deletes this data. Because it was never sent to us, we have no copy of it to delete on our end.

3. Sending and receiving parcels

When you send a parcel, Porchlight builds a link containing the content you chose (a verse or your own written note), your chosen display name or relationship, and your decorative choices. That link is handed to your device's own share sheet — the same one used by Messages, WhatsApp, email, and similar apps — so it's delivered exactly the way any link you share is delivered. Porchlight itself does not transmit this content to a server or store a copy of who you sent it to.

4. Third-party services

Porchlight uses a small number of third-party services, each limited to a specific purpose:

Porchlight does not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or any form of tracking.

5. Children's privacy

Porchlight does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all — nothing is transmitted off your device by the app itself.

6. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change with it. Since there's no account system, we can't email you directly — meaningful changes will also be noted in the app.
